Parrot fish are tropical kind of reef dwelling fish. Parrot fish in general they are colored bright. Around almost 60 species of parrot fish they swim around coral reefs.

Their colors ranges from red to green, blue and yellow, also gray, brown and black.

The male and female fishes of Parrot fish are looks quiet different from their gender. It has the characteristics of Labridae family in which the female fishes can also change into males.

Individual species of parrot fish are very difficult to identify, only because of their different colors and according to their age and gender. In early stages the scientists are distinguished the Parrot fish into over 300 species. But now they have been reduced to just 60 species.

Parrot fish are most dynamite creatures of their kind. At the night time they will burrow themselves in the sand. Or hide themselves inside the crevices. Parrot fish masks their scent and helps protect themselves from predators like shark and moray eels.
